Chatting with Clients

Having a simple way to message clients inside Quenza would make it easier to stay in touch between sessions. It would be great to keep quick check-ins and follow-ups in one place.

Suggestion for Adding a Chat Feature
J
Jennifer Garcia
wanted to share a feature suggestion that could greatly enhance both client experience and clinical effectiveness: a built-in chat feature.
Here are some of the key benefits:
Improved Client Engagement & Retention
A chat feature would allow clients to stay connected with their therapist in real time, helping them feel supported between sessions.
This consistent communication could reduce drop-off rates, especially for clients struggling with motivation or consistency.
Timely Support & Accountability
Clients could quickly share updates, struggles, or small wins without waiting until the next session.
Therapists can respond with short check-ins, encouragement, or reminders, keeping clients accountable and supported in their growth.
Streamlined Use of Quenza’s Existing Tools
Chat can be integrated with activities, forms, or homework assignments. For example, a client could ask clarifying questions while completing an exercise, and the therapist could provide immediate guidance.
This creates a more dynamic and interactive experience with the resources already provided in Quenza.
Enhanced Therapeutic Alliance
Secure, direct communication fosters a stronger sense of safety, trust, and connection.
Many clients appreciate knowing they can reach out in moments of need, even if the therapist responds later.

Hi team - is there any news or timeframe on adding the chat option to the NEXTGEN - as this is the only thing holding me back for the big move..
Torben Tschechne
Gijs VAN BREUGEL: We don't have a fixed time for a release of this feature, but it is definitly the next feature that we will integrate into the NextGen application.

Chat is a must have. Also clients have different processing preferences for oral processors typing can be a barrier. So a couple of additional needs:
- Voice notes and not just text
- adding voice to text accessibility widget, so clients can choose to play back text in voice or speak their answers that would be super helpful. Yes they can switch these things on, in their system but that can be really difficult to remember to do. The button built into the system acts as a reminder. This would be applicable to the entire platform not just chat.

Chat functionality

I just wanted to share a bit more context around why the chat feature is so essential to my workflow. It allows me to stay in direct contact with the various tiers of client cohorts, while also helping me manage my time more effectively.
I have a dedicated block on my calendar each day specifically for responding to chats, and clients know to expect replies during that window. That structure helps keep communication clear and contained, which is crucial for both client engagement and time management on my end.
Really hoping chat is high on the roadmap for NextGen—it’s a key piece of what makes Quenza work so well for my practice.

Chat is very important to me as well. Its absence is actually a major reason why I can’t migrate to NextGen yet.
Stefan Bauer
Joanna Jotrive Thanks for this feedback! I completely understand how essential chat is for your practice and why it's blocking your migration to NextGen. We've noted your input and will update you as soon as chat functionality becomes available. Please understand that we can't make any promises or provide timeline estimations.

CHAT - IMPORTANT+++

The chat option is one of my main tools in the "old" Quenza, but here I cannot find it?
Without the chat option I will not move to the NextGen.

I would very much appreciate this! Right now we're testing going back and forth in the comments, but I can already see it becoming unwieldy fast, and I could really use a good messaging feature within the service.
Ernst Jansen
Eva Simona Kulenovic: Thanks for sharing that, Eva. Really useful to hear how you're handling it now. Curious what would make a messaging feature really work for you if you’ve thought about it.

Ernst Jansen I think that basic messaging functions would be enough - to have the conversation in one place, and maybe to be able to share files and images as well.
I saw on the roadmap page that there actually used to be a Chat function, is that right?
Ernst Jansen
Eva Simona Kulenovic Yes, you're absolutely right. Chat is available in Quenza Classic, but it hasn’t made its way to NextGen yet. The version you're seeing on the roadmap refers to that earlier Classic feature.
Thanks for sharing how you'd use messaging in your workflow. The ability to keep everything in one place, with support for files and images, is exactly the kind of detail that's helpful for us as we plan what this could look like in NextGen.

Ernst JansenFor me the chat is per client an ongoing conversation between the sessions. Added to that are the note and the activities.
